Café Société

In the space formerly occupied by popular Arts District café The Daily Dose for seven years, owner Sarkis Vartanian will open Café Société, on Tuesday July 24th. Café Société will offer a tightly curated menu of high quality bowls, tartines, sandwiches, salads, terrines, baked goods, gelato and sorbetto from local makers Black Market, along with coffees from much lauded Stereoscope coffee, and teas from Rishi Organic Teas.

All menu items are sourced from some of the most highly respected purveyors and makers in the area.
Bread for sandwiches and tartines is from nearby Bread Lounge, baked goods are from Roxana Jullapat’s acclaimed Friends and Family, Scones from Sugarbird Sweets, ham from Fra’mani, cheese by Cowgirl Creamery, and meats from  Fabrique Délices.

The former railway cutting that is home to  the café’s outdoor seating patio has been refurbished, and furnished with brightly colored powder-coated french furniture and cheery powder blue umbrellas, giving the alley a distinctly European flair. There’s free wi-fi, and numerous electrical outlets have been installed outside for customers to plug in their laptops and other devices to charge.

Says owner Sarkis Vartanian “Café Société was born during a journey of self discovery: out of the love of coffee culture and its community. Inspired by European cafes, we want to be the best version of a coffee house that we can be. We take inspiration from around the world to create something unique for our local community.  We value our friends and neighbors, and understand that coffee and food is very personal for each and everyone of us. Whether on your plate or in your cup, we focus on quality, complexity and balance.

We are a society of food, coffee, art and music lovers: “We are CafÉ SociÉtÉ
