For 25 years, Ian Blackburn has worked with Champagne, having served as a Regional Educational Ambassador, working for the house of Taittinger, and has dedicated his efforts to improving the region's knowledge and appreciation for one of the world's greatest beverages.
In this experience - you will receive life changing appreciation for the product…. Understand how it's made - understand what you like - gain insights in the language of Champagne - Answer the question: “Do you like Autolysis? - and what does that mean? … age, intensity, richness, acidity… we discuss all the wines… and tell you the brand stories…. smaller producers, major players, top vintage efforts and a few tête (head) cuvées such as Roederer’s Cristal… Dom Pérignon… and more!
This 2-hour Champagne experience is packed with information. You’ll learn how Champagne is made, improve your ability to describe it, find out the best way to serve and enjoy it. We will taste all the wines blind and see what you enjoy best… and reveal. When you’re finished, you’ll be able to experience Champagne at a higher level and make confident purchases with your new, topical insights.
