Chef Joachim Splichal invites you to experience a very special evening that will take you on a journey back to his German roots. We are honored to welcome featured guests, Friedrich Becker and Richard Grosche, renowned winemakers of Becker Family Wines and Von Buhl.

The Becker estate, located in Schweigen on the border of Alsace, has been one of the top Pinot Noir producers in Germany for many years. The best Becker Pinot Noirs compare favorably with the best Burgundy has to offer.

Both the Becker and von Buhl estates are members of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter, a highly acclaimed German wine producer association whose members adhere to the highest standards. The Von Buhl estate is also farmed organically.

Experience a taste of Deutschland with exclusive dishes by our very own Executive Chef Andreas Roller. Pulling inspiration from his German heritage, Chef Roller has curated this special menu to pair each course perfectly with its wine counterpart.

 ABOUT ANDREAS ROLLER

An internationally trained and experienced culinary talent, Roller is a certified master chef from Germany. His commitment to curating the finest ingredients near and far includes weekly visits to local farmers markets to ensure his dishes showcase the best of each season.

By the age of 19, Roller had already worked in three Michelin-starred restaurants, including an apprenticeship at Traube Tonbach Resort, a Relais & Châteaux resort helmed by Chef Harald Wohlfahrt. When he arrived in Los Angeles in 2000, he went to work as sous chef at Patina on Melrose at the young age of 23. After developing a close relationship with Patina Restaurant Group Chef and Founder Joachim Splichal, Roller took some time off to apply his culinary flair to projects around the globe—including Australia, Austria, Dubai, London, Japan, when he toured around Formula 1 cooking for the circuit and worked at the world’s only seven-star hotel restaurant. During this time, Roller became a certified Master Chef with Excellence, bestowed by the German Chamber of Commerce. He returned to Patina Restaurant Group in 2007 and has since spent time alongside Splichal at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as many high-profile charitable and culinary occasions around the world.

When he's not in the kitchen, he can be found in the cockpit of a single-engine plane, on the back of a motorcycle, atop a pair of skis, or underwater in SCUBA gear, exploring the culinary scene in Europe as well as L.A.’s own restaurants and farmers markets.
