Bob Blumer is a friend, chef and wine enthusiast. For the past 3-years he has participated in a 3-day, 300-mile bike ride with an ever-growing group of chefs (this year numbering 275), to raise awareness and money for Charity. NoKidHungry is a national charity that helps feed underprivileged kids school breakfasts. As government programs are being scaled back, this noble initiative is more important than ever. This is the time for those of us who are privileged to drink the wines and live the lives that we do, to step up. We (wineLA) are supporting Bob's ride and we encourage you to do the same by joining us for this unique dining opportunity (he’s cooking!!) … if you can’t make it - consider making a donation to the charity!
At wineLA, We are offering a one-of-kind experience to attend a surreal pop-up in the Hollywood Hills with Food Network star and 7-time Guinness World Record holder Bob Blumer (aka the Surreal Gourmet). Bob is best known for his popular TV shows Surreal Gourmet, Glutton for Punishment and World’s Weirdest Restaurants. He is also the author of six award winning cookbooks. Bob is an unabashed wine enthusiast who takes pleasure in creating unique food and wine pairings to accompany his surreal dishes.
We donate 100% of all dollars raised (not cost covering - as we are donating our time, our wine and our efforts).
This promises to be a truly unique experience that money can't buy—unless you have $550 and can get your mitts on one of the six golden tickets.
Event is for four to six guests only. You may purchase them one at a time or all six…. This is a casual event under the stars is on an amazing patio under the Hollywood Sign - the evening will include a fun and cerebral collection of wines donated by Ian Blackburn, wine host, to compliment an equally amazing array of flavors. Why so small? Well we're passionate about the finer things which includes wine, food, music, and company. This is something we'd love to share with you and your like-minded friends.
Menu can be crafted to meet the individual dietary needs and restrictions - but typically the menu is made day of from “farmers market to our table” and will include several items from Bob’s many cook books and TV show appearances.
This event is not open to the general public. If interested, purchase a ticket and we will contact you with the location two days before the event. Please be sure to provide your email and phone number (cell phone) and email - so we may reach you with further details.
This is a rain or shine event. Weather conditions will only affect dinner will be held inside or out. All proceeds go to charity and a charity receipt will be issued upon request.

Gastronaut, artist and seven time Guinness World Record holder Bob Blumer is the creator and host of the television series Surreal Gourmet, and Glutton for Punishment, and a producer and host of World’s Weirdest Restaurants. His shows air on various networks in over twenty countries world-wide.
In World’s Weirdest Restaurants, the passionate and indefatigable culinary adventurer circles the globe in his quest to find the world’s weirdest and wackiest restaurants. Some of his discoveries include a Japanese isakaya where Macaque monkeys serve beer, a New York City pop-up where patrons dine in the nude, and Modern Toilet in Taipei where curry is served in miniature porcelain toilet bowls.

On Glutton for Punishment, Bob channels his passion for food and his competitive nature into a series of culinary adventures that are inspiring, entertaining and often amusing. In every episode, he has five days to learn a physically daunting culinary skill, then he is thrown to the wolves as he competes in a related professional competition, or attempts to rise to the occasion of a challenge. In the fifth and final season of the show, Bob successfully broke or established seven food-related Guinness World Records.

The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending child hunger a national priority.
We’re working to end child hunger in America by connecting kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals. This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities. These partners work together, implementing solutions that break down the barriers that keep kids from healthy food.
Through its Cooking Matters program, the No Kid Hungry campaign educates and empowers low-income families to stretch their food budgets so their kids get healthy meals at home. Cooking Matters participants learn to shop strategically, use nutrition information to make healthier food choices, and cook delicious, affordable meals.
The No Kid Hungry campaign works to shine a national spotlight on the crisis of child hunger in America, creating a powerful movement of individuals committed to bold action. We build partnerships that enlist influential individuals in the cause and advocate policy changes needed to achieve our goals.
